One day trips near Warsaw

The city of Warsaw is a beautiful tourist destination that is gaining more and more popularity each year. Now that you have made up your mind to visit this place and you have booked your Warsaw apartment for the period of your stay, there are a few places for one day trips that you should know, in case that you have an extra day and you have already seen everything that is to be seen in the city of Warsaw.

The first destination for a one day trip near Warsaw is the town of Zelazowa Wola, where is the birthplace of the famous and very talented composer Frederic Chopin. This small town is located approximately 50 km outside the capital of Poland and there one could see the home of the composer, which is now a museum. The second site on our list is the Baroque Palace of the Radzwill families called Nieborow, which is placed approximately 13 km from the town of Lowicz. The palace dates back from the 17th century and features beautiful Rococo ornaments and lovely gardens. Surprisingly, the interior and the furniture of the palace have survived the Second World War and is something original that is worth to be seen. The park that comes with the palace is very beautiful and is arranged in a French style. Nearby there is another park called Arkadia, which has a ceramics workshop.

Not far is set the small town of Lowicz, which has rich cultural heritage. This town is worth to be visited during the Corpus Christi Festival, organized on the second Thursday after Pentecost. It has a nice regional museum as well with collections of regional art and costumes. Another great place for a one day trip is the royal palace Wilanow, which was built at the end of the 17th century and used to be a residence of king Jan Sobieski. The palace is surrounded by a huge park and is set close to Vistula River, being a perfect example of Baroque architecture, arranged with many pictures and portraits, furniture and sculptures, etc. The park of the palace is very large and features four separate areas being the Rose Garden, the Baroque Garden, the English Landscape Park and the English-Chinese Garden.

The town of Plock is another interesting one day destination. The town used to be a capital of Poland for a certain period and has a nice castle. Approximately 60 km from the capital Warsaw is placed the small town of Pultusk, placed on an island in the Narew river. It has a castle, a large market place, a beautiful church and several nice restaurants where one can try some traditional meals. There is yet another place that would make a great one day trip from Warsaw and it is the small town of Czerwinsk, placed on the north bank of Vistula river, that has a nice basilica with two towers and Romanesque portal.

After your trip to Warsaw you can visit one more location in Poland. You can stay in Krakow apartment or go to France and rent a Paris apartments.
