May be it is a cliché, but there is no better and finest place for a romantic trip and especially a honeymoon than the city of Paris. Actually, though there are many travel destinations on earth, the capital of France is the only city most of the people will think of when they are in love. It is no doubt that Paris is called “the city of love”, because it is so.

Since honeymoon is that specific time for celebration and beginning of a new life together, it requires a special and very romantic place to be associated with. That special place also needs to offer convenience and privacy. The honeymoon will be the first trip that you will make as a husband and wife and it needs to be special and to have more significance than all the journeys that you have already made together. A honeymoon in Paris will definitely satisfy the taste, since here one can start the day with freshly baked croissants and coffee in a small café, go on a walk through one of the marvelous gardens and impressive palaces, visit a gallery or a museum, enjoy a light and palatable meal on a dinner at some of the numerous French restaurants with a bottle of great local wine and go for a stroll looking at the marvelous city lights. After that you can go back to your Paris apartment and have an unforgettable night.
There are plenty of ideas that could be offered to those who want to get romantic in Paris. One of the nicest things that a couple can do is sit in a nice outdoor café and have a glass of wine with some bread and pate, enjoying the life going on around. Another option is to have a walk on the left bank of Seine river, covering the route from Pont Alexander to Ile St. Louis. Another great idea would be to take a boat on the St. Martin Canal and reach Parc de la Villette from Musee d’Orsay. Taking a boat along Seine river is also a good idea for the warm evenings.

For those who love ballet and theatre, there are plenty of performances here that could be enjoyed at Paris Opera Palais Garnier, the Opera House and the theatrical halls. Another good idea would be to enjoy some relaxing time at the Tuilleries gardens, at the park just behind the Notre Dame or around the pond at Jardin du Luxembourg.
If the weather is not that great, then the couple can go to the Louvre, where there are plenty of things to be seen, check the Musee d’Orsay or the Musee Carnavalet. Great for shopping are the Samaritaine department store and it also offers a great view. Another great romantic thing to do while in Paris is lying at the Champs di Mars grass with a fresh baguette and sipping some wine, while watching the sun setting and the Eiffel Tower being light up. If you happen to go to Paris in winter, then you can go ice skating on the ice ring near Hotel de Ville.
